BRIGG GARDEN CENTRE PLANS TO EXPAND AND CREATE MANY NEW JOBS

Brigg Garden Centre at DN20 9HE which plans to expand in 2022 and create more than 20 new jobs

New jobs and an additional cafe are planned at Brigg Garden Centre which wants to expand its premises just outside the town, off Bigby High Road.
The development will create at least 22 new posts - "most likely to be occupied by local residents," the company has informed West Lindsey District Council.
Brigg Garden Centres is now seeking planning approval for the removal of an existing retail marquee and the construction of a two-storey extension at the front of its local premises in Kettleby to create additional retail floorspace and a cafe, including reconfiguration of part of the existing car park at DN20 9HE.
The Gainsborough-based local authority is to consider this application - decision to be announced in due course. A public consultation period is now under way.
Information supplied to the council on behalf of the company says: "The proposed building will result in a loss of car parking spaces, although the existing car park provides more than enough space for both visitors and staff."
Reconfiguration of the car park will incorporate a new bus stop, an area for storage of bulky goods and a lay-by for collection of these items.
New pedestrian access will be created from the bus stop to the entrance.
Vehicular access to the site from Bigby High Road is to be retained, with a new bus stop within the site creating better links to Brigg town centre.
This will be used by the Hornsby company's No 92 bus operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
A statement explains: "The proposed development seeks to ensure Brigg Garden Centre remains competitive with other garden centres, improve the customer offer to ensure visitor numbers are maintained and new customers are attracted to the garden centre, and support the growth of the business and ensure its
long term viability."

The first floor of the proposed development will house "an additional café to serve the garden centre to meet customer demand. "
