BRIGG TOWN FC END REGULAR SEASON PROGRAMME AS BARNETBY HOLD LEAGUE LEADERS

The Brigg Town FC and Barnetby United first teams both played home games yesterday (Saturday, April 9).
Third-in-the table Brigg won 1-0 against Worsbrough Bridge Athletic at the EC Surfacing Stadium in Toolstation Northern Counties East Division One.
Top scorer Scott Phillips netted late in the second half, watched by a crowd of 245.
This was the Zebras' last regular season game before they enter the promotion play-offs and look to secure Premier status for the 2022/23 campaign.
Barnetby became the first team this season to avoid defeat against leaders College Wanderers in Division One of the EC Surfacing Scunthorpe & District League.
This game at Silver Street finished 0-0. See the report below from Barnetby's Lee Fielden.
Brigg Town Development lost 4-1 yesterday at Nunsthorpe Tavern (Grimsby) in the Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire League Premier.

RAILWAYMEN HOLD LEADERS

Barnetby United became the first side to take points off College Wanderers as the sides played out an action packed 0-0 draw at Silver Street, writes Lee Fielden.
College attacked in the first with the wind to their backs, from the railway end, but Barnetby’s back line and debutant keeper Shaw kept their advances at arms length.
0-0 at the turn, College were holding the upper hand and on 73 minutes they were rightfully awarded a penalty.
Paddy Shaw pulled off a stunning save on debut to keep The Railwaymen in the game.
Harry Finnis was causing continues problems down the College right and Callum Wilkins, ploughing a lone furrow up front, then had a goal ruled out for offside.
Minutes later, in the dying embers of the game, he saw his header tipped onto the bar.
