We are sure a newly-introduced Easter event will prove particularly popular in Brigg this weekend, with a local celebrity attending to add to the fun.
Regular free-to-enter Saturday morning Parkruns alongside the River Ancholme were introduced some weeks ago over a 5k course (run, jog or walk).
Now there's a special Easter Ancholme Valley Parkrun coming up on Saturday (April 16) with competitors being invited to don fancy dress if they wish.
Scunny Bunny - the Scunthorpe United club mascot - will be there to support the event and may take up the hop-opportunity to join competitors.
"Easter treats" can be won on the day.
The start time is 9am with competitors meeting underneath the Ancholme Way bridge, not far from the Lidl store car park at DN20 8AS and behind Riverside Surgery. People will begin arriving from 8.30am, with safety and information briefings at 8.50am.
The route heads north through the countryside into Broughton parish.
Here's a link to register for Parkruns, if you haven't already signed up...
Volunteers are needed to help with organising and staging these weekly runs. Visit the website https://www.parkrun.org.uk/ancholmevalleyway/
We have fingers crossed for good weather to greet the Easter Parkrun competitors. Details of last Saturday's Parkrun can be viewed here...
