KEIGAR SEEKING APPROVAL TO BUILD MORE NEW HOMES IN BRIGG & WOLDS WARD

A housing development in Brigg completed by local company Keigar Homes Ltd

A Brigg & Wolds Ward application designed to provide new homes is among those to be considered by North Lincolnshire Council's Planning Committee during its next meeting, to be held this week.
Approval is being sought by local house-builder Keigar Homes Ltd to erect four properties on land off The Sidings, Victoria Road, Barnetby, DN38 6HP.
The parish council has lodged an objection, expressing concerns about additional traffic and road safety issues, parking provision for the dwellings and impact on the local drainage system.
A detailed report compiled by planning staff ahead of the meeting is recommending this application should be approved.
The report concludes:  "It has been demonstrated the additional four dwellings can be accommodated on the site without resulting in a contrived form of residential development and can be successfully assimilated into the street scene on visual, highway and residential amenity terms. The proposals have
sufficient off-street parking and private amenity provision and on this basis the application is recommended for approval."
Options for councillors serving on the committee include granting or refusing the application or agreeing to make a site visit with a view to reaching a decision at a later date.
The committee will be meeting at Church Square House in Scunthorpe town centre on Wednesday (April 6) from 2pm to consider this application and others from across North Lincolnshire.
Keigar, formed in 1979, has built many homes in Brigg over the years, including developments off Grammar School Road and Glebe Road.
It is currently constructing almost 70 more on the former Falcon Cycles and Corah factory site off Bridge Street.
