JUST A LEAN PERIOD FOR NEWS IN BRIGG OR IS ACTION REQUIRED?

Brigg Blog has been waiting for some weeks to see if someone would be delegated to deal with this leaning tree not far from the County Bridge.
We've made periodic checks but it has remained in situ, leaning precariously out from the bank of the Old River Ancholme (root cause unknown).
Now thinking the responsible authority may be unaware, we feel it's time to draw attention to the situation.
Ancholme Rowing Club's boats, which are based at the nearby Manley Gardens clubhouse (pictured here), can get round it.  But we are now entering the peak period of the year for pleasure craft using the river.
Access to the tree will be far from straight forward due to its location - close to a tall brick wall. So perhaps it will have to be approached from the water.
Or should the tree just be left as it is?
