ENTER NOW: BRIGG'S BEST GARDENS & ALLOTMENTS COMPETITION GROWS FOR 2022

Brigg's best-kept garden & allotment competition 2021

Entries are now being welcomed for Brigg Town Council's competition to identify and reward the best gardens and allotments in 2022. And things have grown this year with the addition of a new section.
Green-fingered residents and local businesses need to submit their entries by noon on Friday, July 8.
The interesting new category is for the best wildlife garden - supporting Mother Nature.
The other classes are best front garden, hanging basket, allotment and business in bloom.
Entrants are being invited to send in pictures of what they've created, to be considered by the Town Council which will judge the top ones in each category.
Certificates, trophies and vouchers will then be presented at a ceremony towards the end of the summer.
The presentation ceremony was held for many years in the Angel Suite, as part of a social event in aid of the Mayor's Appeal Fund assisting worthy causes.
But late last August during the emergency period, the council announced the winners and made the presentations in the open air from a pop-up stall/stand on the Thursday market (see pictures above).
This was well received, with market shoppers stopping to watch the presentations.
Entries for 2022 should be submitted to Brigg Town Council - email enquiries@briggmarkettown.co.uk - ahead of the deadline.
People need to identify which category they are entering and furnish their postal and email addresses, plus a contact telephone number.
There is a printed form in the latest issue of Brigg Matters magazine (now being distributed to addresses in the town by volunteers).
If you don't have a copy to hand, contact the Town Council.
People who have friends or neighbours without online access or a camera to take suitable pictures of their garden should advise them to get in touch with the council by calling 07584 315971 or via the office at Room S04, The Angel, Market Place, DN20 8LD.
