BRIGG BLOG'S CRICKET ROUND-UP: 10K RUNS FOR NEIL

Brigg Town cricketers are without a fixture in the Lincolnshire County League for the second successive Saturday this weekend, but Hibaldstow and both the Broughton teams will be in action on June 18.
Broughton have announced a major milestone being reached by one of its long-serving players.
Usually an opening batsman, Neil Simpson (pictured above) has achieved 10,000 runs in all competitions - only the second person to do so for Broughton.
A welcome £8,416 community grant for this club  towards the installation of a sprinkler system has been earmarked by North Lincolnshire Council.
This will help to keep the playing area at the Scawby Road ground well watered, especially during dry spells.
The council indicates that the club is putting some of its own funds into this project.
Having won well last Saturday to end a poor run, Broughton have climbed to fifth place and will make further progress if they do well tomorrow when visiting Appleby-Frodingham 2nds (currently second from bottom in Division One) at the Brumby Hall Ground, Scunthorpe.
Hibaldstow, in Division Two, have been showing great form but are only fifth in the standings - mainly due to the villagers having played two or even three fewer games than the sides above them.
Tomorrow they have a home match against lowly Market Rasen 2nds, starting at 1pm.
Saturday will also see Broughton 2nds (fifth place) hosting Messingham 2nds (fourth) in Division Three West - the section which includes Brigg.
Town have only managed three league outings so far - all ending in defeat - to leave them propping up the table with only four points.
But there are 11 more matches to come between now and September.
Sunday (June 19) will see Broughton 3rds visiting Normanby Park for a Mick Walker Memorial Trophy North Lindsey League Group C fixture.
