BRIGG BIKE NIGHT WILL HOPEFULLY RESUME IN TOWN CENTRE

Pictures from Brigg Bike Night and Barton Bike Night

Barton Bike Night will be resuming shortly, but Brigg's similar town centre event will not be doing likewise next month.
Saturday, July 9 is the date of Barton Bike Night 2022, operating from 4pm to 10pm, and making a welcome return following a gap due to the Covid emergency.
Brigg Bike Night, centred on Bridge Street and the Market Place, has previously been arranged for a Friday evening in early July (ahead of Barton's).
But our town's will not be staged next month. A factor may have been the close proximity to the extensive Platinum Jubilee celebrations which saw many local events being organised by various volunteers.
Many Brigg people will be hoping to see Bike Night return to the town centre in 2023.
Meanwhile, there will be plenty of local bike fans heading for Barton on July 9.
And we expect some riders to take their machines via the scenic 'old route' up Elsham Hill rather than along the Barnetby Top and A15 dual carriageway to the Humber Bridge turn-off.
The last Brigg Bike Night to be held took place in July 2019 in glorious weather, attracting an estimated attendance of 2,000. View pictures and report here...
Brigg Town Football Club has been on the ball - recently establishing its own Bike Nights at the EC Surfacing Stadium.
The first was held in April and they are now pencilled in the calendar for the second Thursday each month. The next will be on July 14, from 5pm.
The football club is well located for bikers, having road access from the A18 past the Rec Ground.
Hopefully in 2023 the club will continue its monthly Thursday bike nights at the ground, with the town centre's showpiece event resuming one Friday evening in July.
