BRIGG GROUPS IN THE MONEY

Brigg Town Council has agreed to make grants totalling well over £2,000 to local groups in the town, to be used for various events and projects.

• St John’s Church £1,000, to help towards refurbishing toilet facilities.
• Brigg & District Veterans' Group £500.
• Brigg Angels Women's Institute £475.
• Brigg Rotary Club £400.

Plans are still being finalised for the stage and entertainment to be provided for the Christmas Lights Switch On, to take place on the evening of Friday, November 30.
It seems that a suggestion to re-site the stage elsewhere in the Market Place will not be taken up.
Coun Mike Campion told the Town Council's latest meeting that people attending the switch on had become accustomed to the stage being located outside the front of the Angel building.
Town Clerk Dinah Lilley said she was looking to confirm entertainment for the night, including a choir.
