BRIGG BLOG PREVIEWS RACECOURSE'S FIRST WINTER LADIES' DAY

FROM MARKET RASEN RACECOURSE

Winter Ladies’ Day, sponsored by Elixir Bathrooms of Lincoln, is the second half of Market Rasen Racecourse’s ‘Autumn Double’ on Saturday, 20th October.
Following the success of the Ferry Ales Brewery Prelude Day on the final Saturday of September, the Lincolnshire track is hosting a second weekend meeting offering over £100,000 in prize money.
Visitors – men and women - are encouraged to look out their finest winter outfit and enjoy a day at the races.
The afternoon offers fantastic entertainment and activities for visitors, including:

  • Style Awards, sponsored by Oldrids & Downtown, in the fashion marquee on the Brocklesby Lawn
  • Live music throughout the afternoon from 1940s music duo George & Ginger
  • Christmas shops with a fabulous array of gifts
  • Fashion show
  • Gin Festival.
On the track a six-figure sum is up for grabs, including the £50,000 ‘Design And Install’ Elixir Bathrooms Prelude Chase, a race targeted by the major British training yards over the years, and the £20,000 Kenwick Park Handicap Hurdle.
James Wilcox, Group Trainee General Manager, Market Rasen Racecourse, said: “We’re delighted to be hosting our first ever Winter Ladies’ Day which is supported by our valued new sponsor, Elixir Bathrooms. The event is a celebration of winter chic, gin, shopping and fashion. On the track, there is valuable and exciting sport to be enjoyed with top quality jump racing.”
Racing starts on Saturday, 20th October, at 1.40pm, with gates open two hours before. Admission starts from £10.80 in advance, with accompanied children aged under 18 admitted free of charge. On-the-day prices are £12 (Lawn Enclosure), £20 (Tattersalls) and £25 (County Enclosure).
A ‘Let The Celebration Be-Gin’ offer, with admission, a race-day programme and a single gin and mixer, is £27 for County and £22 for Tattersalls. There is also a ‘Fizz for 4’ package for £99, including four Tattersalls admission tickets, four programmes and a bottle of prosecco.
