Railwaymen fall at the first hurdle
Two calamitous moments of defending in the first 15 minutes saw Barnetby United facing an uphill struggle against Swineshead Institute.
Firstly a huge clearance by the keeper landed in the Barnetby box and with hesitation all round the quickest to react was Bert Snaith who slotted home.
Five minutes later yet more hesitation saw a corner conceded from which Paul Seiner headed home to make it 2-0.
United hit back almost straight away and had Hunt's effort dipped in rather than coming back off the bar the game would have taken on a different complexion.
The second half saw Barnetby pressing to get back in the game and Blendell came close when his effort was tipped onto the post; the rebound hit the keeper on the head and agonisingly rolled wide for a corner.
As Barnetby pushed on, Swineshead hit the post on the break and ultimately wrapped the game up with 5 minutes to go when more hesitation at the back allowed Snaith in for his second.
