NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE MUSIC AND DRAMA FESTIVAL, BRIGG - 2019 ENTRIES NOW BEING ACCEPTED


The syllabus for the North Lincolnshire Music and Drama Festival 2019 is now available and can be collected in Brigg from Wallhead’s Gents Outfitters, Grandad’s Shed or can be found on the festival’s web site www.northlincolnshirebriggfestival.co.uk
Entries close on Monday 26th November.
Drama week will be Monday 25th to Thursday 28th of March and music week is Monday 1st to Thursday 4th of April. As usual daytime drama sessions will be held in St John’s Church and evening sessions in the Vale Academy. 

All of the music classes will be held in St John's Church and the end of festival concert will, once again, be held at the Vale Academy at 2.30 p.m. on Saturday 6th April which will feature selected performers from the two weeks and the presentation of the trophies.
The adjudicators are Louise Manders LLAM, ALAM, GODA, MSTSD(Adj) (drama) and Kay Tucker AGSM, ARCM,LTCL,PGCE,(music). The accompanist will be Maurice Davies BA(hons) LCTL, ALCM,Cert Ed. 
Once again two performers will be selected by the adjudicators (1 drama and 1 music) to represent the festival at the Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire regional championships final.
Plans are already being finalised for the 2020 festival which will be the 100th although the festival was first held in 1900.
One feature for the event is a competition for under 11 year or under to design an A4 poster which should include the following:-

Entrants should include their name, date of birth and contact details on the back. The winning entry will be displayed during the 2020 festival and be awarded a £20 gift token. Posters should be handed into the Heritage Centre, Brigg clearly marked ‘Festival poster competition’.
In addition a competition will be held for an own composition song in the folk style relating to the festival which will be performed at the festival either by or for the composer.
