RECALLING GREAT NIGHTS AT BRIGG PUBS WITH 50+ PICTURES

Here are 50+ Brigg Blog pictures recalling great nights enjoyed at town pubs in recent years.
Sadly, not all the hostelries are still with us - but the memories live on.
Featured are the Dying Gladiator and Stables, the Woolpack, Ancholme Inn (since demolished), Britannia, Black Bull, Exchange, Lord Nelson, White Hart (currently closed for refurbishment), Nelthorpe Arms (now shut and being converted to  residential use), Wetherspoon's White Horse and the Yarborough Hunt.
The pictures date from 2009  to 2018 - a period that has seen many changes.
Among them are some taken at Phil and Dawn Clipson's leaving "do" at the Britannia in July 2015.
We've also included Brigg Servicemen's and The Hawthorns, which are both licensed clubs.

The service uniforms are a bit of a giveaway when it comes to identifying this bar.

Bags of memories: Lee Johnson behind a certain Brigg hostelry, paying homage to Benny Hill's comedy character Fred Scuttle.

A top tribute act, but where was he appearing?

Phil 'Bamber' Dewfall wearing his October Fest vest while out celebrating with Brigg Hockey Club. His rather 'wooly' expression is a clue to the location.

The Diseased trying karaoke, but it was only a few years ago and you can no longer get a round in Brigg for £4.30 like the punk band used to do in the late 1980s.

CAMRA real ale lovers in Brigg to present an award to one of our pubs.

A well-know figure on the right but which hostelry was the other chap helping to reopen?

Where did Col Mumby celebrate his 60th birthday?

A 'time window' back to a New Year's Eve in Brigg with Mike Smith and friends, but at which Brigg hostelry?

Last orders for the last time and no need for a clue to the location as Phil and Dawn prepare to sign off for the last time behind the bar.

This Brigg pub - now much changed - played host to one of the town's most successful football teams, seen here enjoying a reunion.

One of our favourite pictures of a Saturday night live music gig in Brigg. But can you identify the pub?
