GRIM WEATHER: SNOW IN BRIGG DURING OCTOBER!

Brigg Blog is sure we saw a bit of snow - in October!
Around 10am today - Saturday, October 27th, 2018 - a shower hit the town and began with a brief flurry of snow or sleet, which quickly turned to rain.
The 'wet stuff' - coupled with low air temperatures of around 4C and a chilly wind have resulted in very unpleasant conditions for those folk out and about on Brigg Farmers' Market Saturday.
Further showers are forecast until early evening today.

The earliest snow Brigg Blog can recall in the town fell on November 19/20 1971 - but on that occasion there was a considerable amount, not just a brief flurry.
There was also significant snow on November 29, 2010.
The very hot and prolonged summer weather of 2018 is now just a memory, but a very happy one.
We also enjoyed some Indian Summer conditions only a few weeks ago.

2.30pm update: It seems our old eyes were not deceiving us.  Other locals have taken to social media to say they, too, saw snow in North Lincolnshire during October. Not Fake News but Flake News!
