PLAN TO CREATE NEW BRIGG FLATS DISCUSSED BY TOWN COUNCILLORS

A planning application seeking permission to create two new flats within Brigg town centre prompted some discussion at the latest meeting of the Town Council's Planning & Environment Committee, held in the Angel Suite.
Change of use to two residential flats, including replacement windows and doors and rendering, is being sought for 40 Bigby Street,  pictured above - formerly used as commercial offices.
The committee decided it was "in general support" of the application, but some concerns were expressed over parking provision and rear access.
Coun Jane Kitching wondered where car-owning residents of the flats would park their vehicles.
There's real demand for flats in the town, with former business premises on Garden Street among the latest to be converted to provide living accommodation. View more here...
At the same meeting, town councillors were "in support" of two further applications:

  • Erect a garage side extension at 9 Eastfield Road, Brigg.
  • Raise the ridge line of bungalow to facilitate loft conversion and installation of roof lights to front roof slope at 9 Kennedy Close, Brigg.
The applications for these properties on Bigby Street, Eastfield Road and Kennedy Close now await final decisions from North Lincolnshire Council planners.
