Motorists and pedestrians on and near the main A18 in Brigg have encountered some usual things down the decades.
These have ranged from animals that escaped from the old stockmarket on Cary Lane to 'bouncing beet' - heavy lumps harvested from farmers' fields which fell from trailers on their way to be processed at Brigg Sugar Factory.
Yesterday afternoon (Friday, September 16) saw something completely different - a group of a dozen-or-so balloons, tied together, which a stiff breeze blew across East Park, near the Tintab shelter, towards the car wash and then onto the Monument roundabout.
A number of pedestrians observed this unusual sight, which we managed to photograph before a quick-thinking employee of a local business ventured out to capture the balloons and taken them off the road.
Where these UFOs - unidentified floating objects - originated remains unclear.
