BRIGG TOWN LADIES & WRAWBY MILLERS ENJOY GREAT DEBUTS


Congratulation to Brigg Town Ladies whose first game in the Lincolnshire Co-op Women & Girls County League produced a 4-0 home win over Barton United Ladies at the EC Surfacing Stadium (Hawthorns) on Sunday afternoon (September 18).
Mel Kirk scored twice and there was a goal apiece for Maria Kirk and Courtney Waby.
Meanwhile, Brigg Town Football Club's new men's B team opened the 2022/23 campaign with a Sunday game on the North Bank against Lord Nelson in Hull & District Veterans League Division Four. Brigg took the the lead through Steve Broughton but eventually suffered a 3-1 defeat.
Also making their competitive debut in the Scunthorpe & District Sunday League, Wrawby Millers enjoyed a 5-0 home victory over Foxhills in the first round of the Challenge Cup.
In the same competition, and also playing at home, Hibaldstow defeated Beckwood Warriors 13-1.
Broughton Working Men's FC had a comfortable passage through to the second round, winning 6-0 at Robert Holme Hall.
Brigg Town Development have a home game at the the EC Surfacing Stadium tonight (Tuesday, September 20). The Zebras will be taking on Tetney Rovers in the Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire League Premier (7.45pm). Admission is £3 (adults), £2 (concessions) and free for under-18s.
