RETRO PARTY AMONG BRIGG EVENTS THIS WEEKEND

There's a nostalgic event to enjoy in Brigg this Saturday night (September 2).
The Mood Swings will be performing during a 1940s Retro Party at Brigg & District Servicemen's Club, Coney Court, from 8.30pm to 11pm.
In addition to famous songs from the '40s, the girls will be singing others from the 1950s and 1960s - swing and rock and roll included.
Admission to this event is free - everyone welcome, the venue says.
Ska Man T will be on stage at Brigg Market Place's Woolpack on Saturday night (free to view) performing hits made famous by Madness, Bad Manners, The Specials, Prince Buster and others.
There will be a disco & karaoke at the Dying Gladiator, Bigby Street, on Saturday night, while singer Nadia will bring chart-busting hits to Broughton's Red Lion.
Brigg town centre will see its Traditional Market operating this Saturday, from 8am - offering fruit & veg, flowers and fish.
On Sunday (September 4) there will be a Brigg Masonic Club summer hog roast (plus salad bar) at Wrawby Village Hall, from noon. Tickets cost £16 - email m.ramm48@gmail.com for details.
Sunday will also see the annual Cadney & Howsham Scarecrow Event, with car-boot stalls to browse. It's centred on the community halls in both villages (10am to 2pm). Refreshments will be available.
Last weekend saw the Black Bull, on Wrawby Street, staging its own three-day BriggFest August bank holiday festival featuring popular music of different styles.
Rockabilly group Relentless launched the programme.
Later, there were tributes to various popular performers including Pink, Erasure, The Pet Shop Boys, Abba and Status Quo.
The venue is now talking about establishing this as an annual summer event.
Black Bull customers also gave generously to a charity appeal.
