16 GARAGES BEING BUILT IN BRIGG WHERE THERE IS 'HEALTHY DEMAND'

Work is proceeding to create new garages in Brigg where there is considerable local demand.
Planning permission was granted in January this year for the erection of 16 garages on land to the rear of 38-41 Albert Street.
Our pictures were taken recently from nearby Station Road, but access to these garages will be gained from an existing road midway along Albert Street.
A statement submitted to North Lincolnshire Council in support of the planning application explained gardens would be reduced in size to permit this development, with prior notice given to tenants.
"The applicant has constantly received enquiries for garages from local residents and has decided that there is a healthy demand for a secure garage, hence the planning application proposal," planners were informed.
A council officer's assessment report recommended that permission should be granted.
It said the development would be located within 30m of the conservation area and listed buildings, but "should not detract from the character of the setting, given that the structures are single-storey and are screened by dwellings from the designated heritage assets and conservation area."
A local builder is now involved with creating the new garages.
