Entries are now being taken by a Brigg club for one of the town's major sports events.
Ancholme Rowing Club will be hosting the annual Ancholme Head on Sunday, October 9.
Racing will be in two divisions, starting at 11am and 2.30pm along a straight 2,750m course.
Male and female members of clubs from across the north and midlands will be taking part in this long-established event.
Entries will close on September 29 with the draw taking place on October 2.
Crews will be timed from the south side of Broughton Bridge to the north side of the M180 Bridge.
Dozens of competitors will be arriving in Brigg prior to 9.30am on the day of the event, together with many supporters.
Race HQ will be the Ancholme Rowing Club boathouse off Manley Gardens, beside the Old River Ancholme.
One of the reasons Brigg Blog is posting about the Ancholme Head today is to inform local businesses about an influx of potential customers.
Most of the visitors will be in town from early morning through to late afternoon or early evening.
Many local people like to gather near the County Bridge or along the riverside path in Brigg to watch the Ancholme Head competitors setting off on the water for the start line or heading back to the boathouse after racing.
Others, joined by spectators from many boat clubs, will walk down the the old towpath or the Ancholme Valley Way to the finish line near the M180 Bridge.
Competitors will be submitting their entries through the BROE2 online entry system which is familiar to rowing clubs across the country.
British Rowing Rules of Racing apply to the Ancholme Head, with tankards being awarded to the fastest competitors in four sections, and medals for others.
