Following the funeral service held in Scunthorpe for well-known former Brigg publican Bob Nicholson, an afternoon wake was held at Glanford Boat Club, on Island Carr, yesterday (Tuesday, September 13) to reflect on happy times spent is his company.
A very keen boat club member, it was fitting that Bob's farewell in the licensed clubhouse proceeded while warm and sunny weather prevailed and there were calm conditions on the adjoining River Ancholme where he spent so many happy hours aboard pleasure craft.
Pictures were projected onto a screen in the clubhouse, showing Bob with his family, including holidays, and while running local licensed premises with wife Sue (seen in the centre of the top image above).
They had Brigg's White Hart from the early 1980s, then the Queens Arms (later transformed into the licensed Fish Inn restaurant) and subsequently the King William IV at Scawby Brook.
These views show some of the people who attended yesterday afternoon at the boat club where lavish refreshments were provided, including farewell drinks in memory of Bob.
He is seen (above left,) behind the bar, as many local people will remember him.
