NEW BRIGG SHOWROOM OPENED BY TV STAR FROM GLADIATORS

A star from the popular TV entertainment series Gladiators came to Brigg to open a local firm's "flagship" new premises which have led to the creation of jobs with more expected to follow.
Hunter (James Crossley) cut the ceremonial tape to launch the Endurance Doors showroom off Bridge Street (pictured above).
Endurance Doors - creators of solid, secure & stylish doors - is the brand name for Rocal - very well-known in Brigg (and far beyond) and a significant local employer with a familiar presence on Atherton Way.
The showroom premises showcase products to customers who can call in to view the wide range on offer and gain expert design consultation advice from staff.
Ahead of Hunter cutting the tape, Brigg Blog was given a guided tour of Tardis-like premises that stretch back a considerable distance from the frontage.
We were given a demonstration of a large touchscreen (pictured here) through which customers can select the type of door they want from the 79 available, choose the colour which takes their eye and add a letterbox in the style they prefer.
The Brigg showroom is a pioneering first, with more expected to follow elsewhere in due course.
We inquired about the target area for our local premises, and it's a 30-mile radius of Brigg.
Bridge Street being on the A18 and the fact that on-site parking is available makes the new showroom easy to locate and convenient for customers when they arrive. Tall flags adjoining Bridge Street also help to identify, or flag up, the location.
Endurance Doors is next to the Wado Ryu Karate Centre and a short distance from the mini-roundabout giving access to the Aldi store.
Ken Harrison, from Brigg Matters magazine, also attended the launch and many of his pictures are included here alongside others taken by Brigg Blog.
A number of company employees and invited guests are seen, with light refreshments being served at the launch on Tuesday.
Some got to meet James Crossley (aka Hunter) whose career, Ken tells us, includes five years with the Hull Truck Theatre Company, plus TV work and appearances in plays. James is also a fitness consultant.

FROM ENDURANCE DOORS - SEPTEMBER 13, 2022

Brigg-based Endurance Doors are arguably the fastest growing company in the UK entrance door sector, manufacturing 250 bespoke doors a day.
It's also a business that's proud of its North Lincolnshire pedigree, working with local schools and colleges and is owner managed, led by managing director Stephen Nadin.
Established 30 years ago, the company employs over 250 people across a range of manufacturing, operational and administrative disciplines, boasting a turnover in excess of £30 million.
Part of the bigger Rocal Group based at the same location, the company places considerable importance on employee engagement, product development and sustainability.
In addition to their zero landfill achievement, the company has also partnered up with the World Land Trust (WLT), an international conservation charity that protects the world's most biologically significant and threatened habitats.
This partnership has seen the company embark on a Carbon Balanced programme with contributions made to the charity. Through this they have established a carbon balanced business standard for 2021, with the goal to be carbon zero by 2030.
The opening of the flagship showroom in Brigg is part of a long-term investment programme locally, as they look to continue the strong growth protectory that they have enjoyed in recent years.
It will carry a number of door displays and there is the opportunity for homeowners to enjoy a personal design consultation, while from a trade perspective the environment will be used to host webinars as a dedicated training centre for installation partners.
