TIMETABLE FOR WITHDRAWN BRIGG BUS SERVICE STILL ON PUBLIC VIEW

The discontinued 450 Stagecoach bus service - formerly linking Brigg, Barton and Immingham - is still being promoted to the travelling public many months after this service last ran.
Brigg Blog happened to be on Cary Lane when we noticed the 'Operated by Stagecoach' 450 timetable (pictured here) on display in a case at the town's main bus stop.
The previous evening's Brigg Town Council meeting in the Buttercross had seen Coun Ann Eardley mention the old 450, as she had during at a previous session when she suggested some people would like to see it re-introduced.
During the last July meeting she gave examples of local people being unable to travel since the 450 was withdrawn by the operating company.
Responding to Coun Eardley's comments, Couns Rob Waltham and Carl Sherwood (Brigg & Wolds Ward representatives on North Lincolnshire Council) quoted low passenger numbers ranging from only two per trip to a maximum of 12, and made reference to the availability to local travellers of the JustGo dial-a-ride bus service (introduced last September). It is supported by the unitary authority.
There seems little or no prospect of the Brigg-Barton-Immingham service returning in its previous form, but perhaps it's time for the timetable to be removed from display to avoid any possible confusion.
