Brigg Town Football Club's flying start to the new season continued last night (Wednesday, August 11).
The Zebras completed a hat-trick of start-of-the season victories by beating Hallam 2-1 at the EC Surfacing Stadium (Hawthorns).
However, extra time was required to divide the teams in this ToolStation Northern Counties East Cup first round tie.
Ben Lingard put Brigg ahead late in the first half from the penalty spot, only for the visitors to level after 79 minutes.
Martin Pembleton scored the Zebras' tie-winning second goal early in the extra period of play.
In addition to securing a place in round two, Brigg Town FC can be very pleased to have attracted another sizeable crowd.
The official attendance, 205, was almost double the next highest in last night's first round ties.
Brigg's crowd also far exceeded the totals for league games in the Premier Division hosted by Winterton Rangers, Grimsby Borough and AFC Mansfield.
