BRIGG BUSINESS APPLICATION SUBMITTED TO PUBLIC LICENSING AUTHORITY

A Brigg town centre business which is well-known for its range of quality furniture and upholstery has now submitted an application seeking approval to place temporary street furniture outside its premises during trading hours... but these items will not be for sale.
Grandad's Shed, on Wrawby Street, wants authorisation to site tables and chairs outside, Tuesday to Saturday, from 9.30am to 4pm.
The application is now being considered by the local authority.
It follows others of a similar nature submitted in recent months by Scalinis (fish & chip restaurant/takeaway), Cooplands (bakery business) and CuriosiTeas (tea shop).
Local businessman Paul Keane is the applicant on behalf of Grandad's Shed. His Cafe Courtyard, in the Market Place, has already received approval to site tables and chairs adjoining its frontage on the ground floor of the Angel building.
The Grandad's Shed application "to place an obstruction on, or over, the highway" relates to the Highways Act 1980.
All the premises mentioned here are within the pedestrian area which was created in the early 1980s while Humberside County Council was still the highway authority.
In its role as the Waste & Public Protection Licensing Authority, North Lincolnshire Council will consider Grandad's Shed application (dated August 13 in a public notice).  Above Grandad's Shed is the Loft Restaurant.
