BRIGG COUNCIL SETS ITS STALL OUT TO PRESENT AWARDS & CONSULT WITH RESIDENTS

Brigg Town Council will be operating a stall on the market tomorrow (Thursday, August 26).
Councillors and staff will be available to talk to local residents wishing to discuss topics of interest to them.
Various trophies will also be presented (at noon) to the winners of the best-kept gardens and allotments competition and to the business offering the best Brigg in Bloom display, selected through a vote at a recent council meeting.
The town authority has decided to set its stall out on the market periodically, giving members of the public opportunities to consult with their elected representatives.
Although we now live in age age of high tech communications and mass social media, Brigg Blog thinks this traditional approach will be appreciated by local folk whom don't use the worldwide web/email or have mobile phones.
Others who do own modern devices may also prefer personal chats with the Town Council representatives, rather than sending messages or exchanging emails.
The annual garden and allotment trophies and accompanying certificates are traditionally presented during a coffee morning in the Angel Suite on a Saturday in September, hosted by the Town Mayor in aid of his/her appeal fund.
