PLEDGE SUPPORT NOW IF YOU HELP THE AUTUMN POPPY APPEAL IN BRIGG

Hard work is already under way to ensure that Brigg continues to play its part in the Royal British Legion's autumn Poppy Appeal.
Following the sad death of Nancy Tague and the retirement of Maureen Glossop, Brigg was in need of a Poppy Appeal co-ordinator. And Town Clerk Kerry McGrath has now taken on this role.
However, she needs local people and establishments requiring poppy collection boxes and donation tins to contact her as soon as possible by email - enquiries@briggmarkettown.co.uk
She will be meeting with the regional Poppy Appeal co-ordinator next Thursday (September 2) and requires definite numbers by then. So please don't delay if you are willing to help.
The Poppy Appeal was mentioned during the Town Council's latest meeting, held in late July at the Buttercross.
As there is no meeting in August, we expect an update will be giving to councillors when they get together again next month.
Brigg has given generously to the Poppy Appeal for many years, with volunteers and many local businesses taking supplies of poppies for which individuals make donations. The poppies are then worn with pride prior to and on Remembrance Day and Remembrance Sunday in November.
