COUNCIL RULES ON APPLICATION TO FELL TREES WITHIN BRIGG CONSERVATION AREA

Two trees within the Brigg Conservation Area can be removed.
Having received notice of intention to fell a silver birch and a sycamore at the Beldon House Bed & Breakfast on Wrawby Road, North Lincolnshire Council planners have given consent and will not be making a Tree Preservation Order (TPO).
An assessment report by local authority staff explained: "The silver birch tree is visible within the front garden of the property; however it is not considered to be a significant tree with high visual amenity and due to the presence of the more dominant highway lime trees, the tree is not clearly visible with the street scene.
"The sycamore tree is situated at the side of the property and is not a significant tree with sufficient visual amenity to warrant a TPO."
The council has told the applicant that "the work described" can be carried out provided it is completed within two years.
