PLAN FOR 70 NEW HOMES IN BRIGG AWAITING DECISION FROM COUNCIL

It is now approaching a year since a planning application to build 70 new homes in Brigg was made public by North Lincolnshire Council. A decision is still awaited.
The council made August 27, 2020 the 'valid date' for an outline application seeking approval to erect these dwellings on a site located at "Keyo Agricultural Services, Island Carr Road."
This is at the northern end of Island Carr, not far from the Boat Club.
Various agencies and groups were consulted as part of the planning process, including Brigg Town Council which made its views known last September.
The last comment by a consultee appears to have been received three months ago from "Lead Local Flood Authority."
A statement submitted last year in support of the application said it was intended to provide a range of new properties, having two, three and four bedrooms. Fourteen dwellings would be 'affordable units'.
The report added: "The ground floor areas of some properties will be a garage space, which is acceptable in a flood risk area."
In concluded by saying: "A mixture of housing within the site will appeal to a wide range of buyers. The tree-lined entrance will contribute to the street scene and enhance the surrounding area."
Some objections have been lodged to the proposed development.
North Lincolnshire Council today lists the status of the application as 'Not yet determined.'
