BRIGG TOWN FOOTBALLERS WATCHED BY BIGGEST LEAGUE CROWD OF THE DAY

Brigg Town Football Club attracted the biggest crowd in the entire ToolStation Northern Counties East League which saw 20 games played as the 2021/22 season kicked off yesterday (Saturday, July 31).
Town netted a last minute goal to beat West Yorkshire side Glasshoughton Welfare 3-2 in Division One with 257 spectators looking on at the EC Surfacing Stadium (Hawthorns).
That strike came from Andrew Taylor who added to earlier second half goals by Scott Phillips and Alfie Usher.
It was Brigg's first league match since Boxing Day 2020, following which all fixtures were suspended due to the Government's Coronavirus emergency lockdown. That programme did not resume.
