PUB ON OLD BUS ROUTE FROM BRIGG CAN BE CONVERTED INTO HOUSING, COUNCIL DECIDES

A pub not far from Brigg which used to be served by buses from the town can be converted into a domestic residence, councillors have decided.
A scheme proposing change of use of the Marquis of Granby at Waddingham was approved by West Lindsey District Council's Planning Committee at its latest meeting.
We took the above picture of this hostelry from the top of a double-decker just prior to the withdrawal of the bus service between Brigg and Lincoln which used to wind its way through many villages to the south of the town before joining the A15 near Caenby Corner on its way to the county's capital.
A Brigg couple who follow our blog will be particularly interested in the council's decision as they are former tenants of the Marquis of Granby.
The council has granted permission to a company based in Retford for change of use of the public house, on the High Street, into one dwelling, including the removal and replacement of an existing extension, updating of front and rear windows, and the installation of patio doors.
