Brigg Blog enjoyed our early afternoon visit to the North Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Festival on Sunday (September 30) at Skydive Hibaldstow - re-scheduled from July when it had to be postponed due to bad weather.
It was supported by North Lincolnshire Council, the Northern Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Forum and Skydive Hibaldstow, and ran from 10am to 4pm.
The event celebrated eight airfields across Northern Lincolnshire and the aviation history of the area.
Hibaldstow airfield housed RAF fighters during the Second World War.
The George Formby Experience - a tribute to the great music hall singer, ukulele player and film actor of the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s - was on stage during our visit, adding to the atmosphere, as did the various stalls and stands displaying military memorabilia.
Local businesses were also involved in selling refreshments to spectators, including Dinky Donuts.
Hibaldstow Astronomical Society promoted the science of astronomy with a display of telescopes.
Many folk from Brigg and surrounding areas attended this event.
Admission was free, but donations were welcome at the entrance/exit point.
The event gave visitors an opportunity to grasp the scale of Hibaldstow airfield.
