FREE BREAKFASTS IN BRIGG & YOU DON'T NEED TO BOOK!

Many Brigg people will be interested in enjoying free breakfasts that are to be offered in the town over a four-week period.
Breakfast and Books sessions during the school summer holiday period will be held at the Brigg Community Hub/Library within the Angel building, Market Place, every Thursday from July 28 through to September 1, between 9.30am and 11am.
An open invitation is being extended to "all children, their families and carers."
Brigg Blog recently spotted a poster on the Angel building's rear Rotunda which is advertising these sessions.
On our way to a Brigg Town Council meeting in the basement Lounge, we passed the former bar which was converted to a kitchen/servery under internal alterations to the building carried out by North Lincolnshire Council a couple of years ago.
Might this be where the Library breakfasts will be prepared for the forthcoming free sessions?
Brigg Blog will endeavour to find out before the first session is held and also what sort of breakfast fare is planned (possible examples pictured above).
Similar sessions will be hosted at council Hubs in Riddings and Scunthorpe town centre.
Broughton is not listed for Breakfast and Books sessions but residents of our neighbouring town (including the Waters Edge estate) can come to Brigg for ours.
North Lincolnshire Council suggests local people can drop in for breakfast on these dates during the summer holidays and enjoy browsing the library while they are there.
For the benefit of those who may not have ventured into the bar adjoining the Angel Suite Lounge while it was still a feature, the facility was used as and when required by those hosting a range of functions.
As an example, glasses of wine (or soft drinks) were dispensed to guests involved in the Friday evening Christmas lights switch-on ceremonies held in late November of very early December.
While on the subject of books, the 'friendly and welcoming' Brigg Borrowers reading group is looking for new members.
It meets in the Angel's Community Hub at 1.30pm on the second Friday of the month.
Email library.enquiries@northlincs.gov.uk to find out more and get in touch with the group.
