BRIGG & DISTRICT WEEKEND SPORTS PROGRAMME INCLUDES CUP SEMI-FINAL


Brigg Town footballers and cricketers will be in action on Saturday (July 23) with a semi-final also coming up in Broughton on Sunday.
The Brigg Town FC 1st XI pre-season friendly tomorrow against Avro, from Oldham, at the EC Surfacing Stadium (Hawthorns) has been cancelled, fans should note.
Brigg Town Development will be playing Messingham at Scawby Playing Field at 3pm.
Meanwhile our Brigg Town cricketers will be in Lincolnshire County League action at the picturesque Hirst Priory Ground (near Crowle) where they will meet Outcasts 2nds in a Division Three West fixture (1pm).
Promotion-chasing Broughton 2nds have a home game in the same section against Caistor 2nds, while Scunthorpe Town 3rds meet Messingham 2nds at Hibaldstow.
The Broughton 1st XI will be heading south to Cherry Willingham for a Division One encounter, while Hibaldstow are in Division Two action at Grimsby Town 2nds who play at the well-appointed Augusta Street venue.
There's an important home game coming up for Broughton 3rds on Sunday (July 24) against Luddington.
This Mick Walker North Lindsey Cricket League Knockout Cup semi-final will start at 1.30pm at the Scawby Road venue.
The latest Ancholme Valley Way Parkrun 5k will start close to the Ancholme Way Bridge in Brigg on Saturday morning at 9am.
Event No 23 in this popular series was held last weekend and attracted 141 entrants.
