The annual Brigg Civic Dinner was held on Saturday (March 5) and featured the presentation of major awards.
Brigg Town Council presented Julie Taylor with the Joseph J. Magrath Trophy for public voluntary service to the community during 2021 for her efforts as a volunteer, spending many hours as "a key partner in the successful Covid Vaccination roll-out programme in Brigg."
The Town Council's Building Award went to Aimee Waudby's Kennedi Boutique for its refurbished premises on Wrawby Street, having relocated from the Market Place.
Kennedi's award recognises its commitment to Brigg in the refurbishment of the shop on Wrawby Street - thereby "enhancing the area."
Brigg Town Mayor Coun Brian Parker presided at the function with his wife Jane.
Fundraising on the night contributed to the Town Mayor's Appeal Fund.
Auction prizes included:
- A two-night stay at an apartment in Scarborough, donated by Jane & Brian Parker.
- Free Spirit City Bike (courtesy of Brian's DIY).
- Amico Penny Farthing Bike (from Ken Harrison).
- John Deere Ride-on Tractor (donated by Ripon Farm Services).
- Family Ticket to Messingham Zoo (courtesy of Coun Penny Smith).
Civic leaders from across the region, including North Lincolnshire Mayor Coun Peter Clark, joined Brigg town councillors, staff and local people to enjoy this event in the Cafe Courtyard on the ground floor of the Angel.
Keith Simpson, the Town Mayor's Chaplain, was also in attendance, and local secondary school pupils provided musical entertainment.
Our thanks go to Ken Harrison, chairman of Brigg Matters magazine, for this varied selection of pictures taken on the night.
