BRIGG COLLECTION POINT NOW OPEN FOR UKRAINE REFUGEE DONATIONS

A collection point has been established in Brigg to co-ordinate humanitarian aid for Ukraine, says North Lincolnshire Council.
This is now operating, to receive vital supplies, in the Angel Suite, off Exchange Place, from 10am to 4pm (weekends included).

Use the rear (Rotunda) entrance (seen above) which adjoins the car park, to gain access to the Angel complex.
Items requested include baby food and new baby clothes, duvets, blankets, bedding and sleeping bags in new (or excellent) condition, first-aid kits, toiletries and non-perishable food such as rice and pasta.
Donations will be accepted at the Angel up to next Wednesday (March 9). People were calling in to make contributions yesterday (Thursday).
The council has also supplied this link through which local people can find details relating to monetary donations and other ways to help those in need.
The authority explains that items collected at its donation sites in Scunthorpe, Brigg, Crowle and Winterton will be sorted and transported to Hemswell, from where a convoy of 30 lorries is due to travel across Europe next week.
The supplies collected in North Lincolnshire will be distributed in Poland to refugee families who have fled Ukraine, the council says.
Coun Rob Waltham (Brigg & Wolds), Leader of the local authority, adds: “While we may not be able to directly affect the bitter and bloody warfare raging in communities across Ukraine, we can assist the humanitarian effort through enabling the collection of donations of vital supplies, ensuring they get directly to the people who need them most.”
