BRIGG FESTIVAL WORKING TOWARDS CELEBRATION

Brigg Music & Drama Festival was founded in 1900 with classes being held at the Corn Exchange for many decades

Brigg will have to wait to stage its 100th music & drama festival in the town.
This was to have taken place in late March and early April 2020 but the Coronavirus emergency had just been declared and the showpiece event had to be cancelled.
With restrictions continuing, it failed to proceed in 2021.
We have been informed that the North Lincolnshire Music & Drama Festival 2022 will not be held as such this year, but the organisers are working towards a celebration being held later in the year.
The initial festival took place in 1900, and it went on to become an annual fixture.
However, there were suspensions allied to the two world wars and also for a period during the 1950s.
Until its closure in the early 1990s, Brigg Corn Exchange - a large venue - hosted festival classes. Read more about the history of the festival here...
