BUSY WEEKEND AHEAD FOR FOOTBALLERS IN THE BRIGG AREA & LATEST PARKRUN COMING UP


With the end of-season promotion play-offs in their sights, Brigg Town Football Club's first teamers have a home game coming up on Saturday (March 26).
The free-scoring Zebras will be hosting Parkgate (from Rotherham) at the EC Surfacing Stadium (Hawthorns).
This Toolstation Northern Counties East Division One encounter kicks off at 3pm, with a sizeable crowd anticipated.
Pip's Kitchen and the licensed Hawthorns bar will be open for refreshments.
Meanwhile, Brigg Town Development journey south to meet Lincoln United Development in the Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire League Premier.
In the EC Surfacing Scunthorpe & District League this Saturday, Briggensians have a home game against College Wanderers at Brigg Recreation Ground (3pm).
Also in Division One action will be Barnetby United, hosting Manor Park at the railway village's Silver Street venue.
Briggensians Reserves have a Saturday trip to Scunthorpe to meet Appleby-Frodingham Reserves in Division Three.
With the season now well advanced, below are the latest EC Surfacing League tables featuring our four local teams.

The latest Ancholme Valley Way Parkrun will take place this Saturday in and near Brigg, from 9am. Entry is free to runners, walkers or joggers. These events are taking place every Saturday.  Julie Taylor has kindly sent us this link to the results of last Saturday's Park Run...

Sunday (March 27) will see some teams from our area in Paul Fox Scunthorpe Football League action.
There are Division Three away games in the morning for Barnetby United at Duffs Dynamos (in Luddington) and for Hibaldstow at Winterton.
FC Recoveries, who play their home games in Hibaldstow, will be meeting Husaria Pride in the final of the Ged McGowan Cup at Scunthorpe's Brumby Hall venue (2pm KO).

Brigg Town FC will be staging an EC Surfacing League cup final next Thursday (March 31) at 7.30pm. The Butchers Arms and College Wanderers will be meeting to decide the 2021/2022 winners of the Johnstone Insurance Sporting Shield.
