BRIGG LANDLORD TO PERFORM WITH OWN BAND AT HIS PUB

A musical Brigg landlord, who is a member of a local band, will be helping to entertain visitors to his pub in the run up to Christmas.
Andy Noon, mine host at Wrawby Street's Black Bull, is to join fellow members of long-established Barnetby Silver Band during a Christmas Brass Concert with Carols on Friday, December 10, when everyone is welcome from 7.30pm.
Barnetby Silver Band is now seeking prospective new members of all ages - tuition and equipment provided.
For further details, see recruitment officer Andy (pictured above) during opening hour at the Black Bull or call 07595 843558.
This hostelry has announced a wide range of musical entertainment in the run up to Christmas, with free admission.
The evening entertainment includes:
Saturday, December 11: Belle Velvet.
Friday, December 17: Neil Barnard.
Saturday, December 18: Sophie Moss.
Sunday, December 19: Vincent.
Thursday, December 23: Liam Sullivan.
Andy's forthcoming performance reminds us of a Christmas past when Phil Clipson, then long-serving landlord of the Britannia Inn, joined renowned Brigg punk band The Diseased for a song when they staged a reunion appearance at the Wrawby Street hostelry. At their request, Phil added his vocal talents to the chorus.
This well-attended Christmas gig was hosted by the Brigg Music Club. Below is a late 1980s archive picture of The Diseased, not long after they formed.
