ROADWORKS CAUSING 'DISRUPTION' ON BRIGG TO SCUNTHORPE BUS ROUTE

The Hornsbys No 4 bus service linking Brigg and Scunthorpe is currently being affected by roadworks which mean a diversion to the normal route in Broughton. The company has made reference to 'disruption.'
Patients of Riverside Surgery, Brigg, who are being sent to the practice's Broughton surgery for various reasons should note that buses are currently unable to drop off and pick up near the medical facility on Brooklands Avenue.
In a social media post Hornsbys said that due to "unannounced" roadworks on Broughton High Street, its buses were unable to turn into, or out of, Brooklands Avenue and would continue straight along the High Street, omitting Brooklands Avenue and South View.
In another 'Service Alert' it said the roadworks were causing disruption and that Service 4 would be omitting Brooklands Avenue and South View.
Brigg Blog visited Broughton yesterday and had to wait some time in heavy rain for the next bus back to town, which fortunately arrived on time.
The roadworks opposite the Red Lion pub on Broughton High Street, which began on Monday morning, are scheduled to be completed late tomorrow (Friday, December 10).
