BRIGG TOWN FC'S TONIC WIN OVER NORTH FERRIBY WATCHED BY LEAGUE'S BIGGEST CROWD

A bumper crowd totalling 634 watched Brigg Town Football Club defeat leaders North Ferriby in the big Humberside derby at the EC Surfacing Stadium (Hawthorns) yesterday afternoon (Saturday, December 18).
Boosted by visiting fans who travelled over the Humber Bridge, this was by far the highest attendance of the day in the ToolStation Northern Counties East League (either section).
The Zebras played very well to defeat table-topping Division One leaders Ferriby 1-0.
The all-important goal came early in the second half - a penalty netted by Scott Phillips.
Brigg remain in third place - two points behind Hallam and four short of Ferriby (all these sides having played 22 league games).
At the end of the 2021/22 season the top side will gain automatic promotion with the second and third placed teams being involved in play-offs against lowly teams from the top flight.
Brigg Town Development's scheduled game away to Nunsthorpe Tavern (Grimsby) was postponed yesterday in the Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire Leage Premier.

In the EC Surfacing Scunthorpe & District Football League, Briggensians lost 8-0 at Scotter United in Division One.
Briggensians Reserves lost 5-1 when hosting Scotter United Reserves at Brigg Recreation Ground in a Division Three fixture.
Table-topping Brigg Town Veterans are due to visit Withernsea today (Sunday, December 19) for a Hull League Division Four fixture (noon kick-off).
