Sunday football teams from Brigg, Hibaldstow and Broughton will be in action tomorrow (December 12).
Black Bull FC, based at Brigg's Wrawby Street hostelry, and the Hibaldstow village side, will be hoping to make progress in a knockout competition organised by the Paul Fox Scunthorpe Sunday League.
Black Bull journey into West Lindsey to take on Blyborough United in the first round of the Bob Bedford Memorial Cup (sponsored by the Crown Inn at Messingham) while Hibaldstow visit Zeera FC, whose home ground is in West Butterwick, in the Isle of Axholme.
In the same competition, FC Recoveries host Trinity at Hibaldstow's playing field (10.30am KO).
There's a Division One fixture for Broughton Working Men's Club, who play Mulligans at the Co-op venue on Brumby Wood Lane, Scunthorpe.
Bob Bedford, after whom this cup competition is named, was a very well-known county and local football league official, as well as being a long-serving referee decades ago.
Brigg Town FC Veterans, who are based at the EC Surfacing Stadium (Hawthorns), will be away to Malt Shovel, Selby, tomorrow in the Hull League - involving a journey of more than 40 miles into North Yorkshire.
Brigg are leading Division Four of this competition, while Malt Shovel are mid-table.
Broughton Working Men's Club, on the High Street, is currently in its centenary year, having been established in 1921.
This licensed venue continues to offer live music on Saturday evenings and is located opposite the town's Thatch Inn (see picture below taken earlier this week).
Deano, a singer, will be performing at Broughton WMC tonight (Saturday, December 11).
