Timetable changes will come into force on the Brigg railway line from NEXT weekend (December 18) and apply until May 2022.
Ahead of this, the Independent Brigg Line Rail Group, which promotes greater use of the Saturdays-only passenger train service, has produced some new A4 printed timetables which incorporate these amendments and list the times of all the trains running to Sheffield, Gainsborough, Retford, Worksop, Barnetby, Habrough, Grimsby and Cleethorpes.
Today the IBLRG is appealing for businesses and community hubs in Brigg & Kirton-in-Lindsey to get in contact as soon as possible, by email, so copies can be posted for them to display.
The address to use if you can help is thebrigglinegroup@gmail.com
Brigg Blog will be detailing the timetable changes in another post this week, and also listing the departure times from platform one (towards Grimsby & Cleethorpes) and platform two (for Gainsborough and Sheffield).
The aim of these posters is to make as many local people as possible aware that Brigg & Kirton still form part of the national railway network and still have passenger trains, currently provided by Northern.
Our local service was reduced to one day a week only in 1993.
