Brigg Town Football Club are third in Toolstation Northern Counties East Division One after a 1-0 win at Glasshoughton Welfare yesterday (Saturday, December 11).
Wayne Graves netted the goal which earned the Zebras all three points midway through the second half.
Brigg Town occupy one of the play-off places but are seven points behind leaders North Ferriby and four adrift of second-placed Hallam. However, almost half the 2021/22 season fixtures remain to be played.
The top side will gain automatic promotion in May with the second and third placed teams being involved in play-off games against lowly sides from the Premier Division.
In the EC Surfacing Scunthorpe & District League yesterday, Briggensians drew 1-1 away to Baltic Boys in Division One, with Jake Wilkinson scoring the Brigg side's goal.
Briggensians Reserves drew 2-2 with Ashby Park Rovers in Division Three at Brigg Recreation Ground, the local side's scorers being Ben Raby and Jamie Jickells.
