The good news is there will be additional market stalls in Brigg Market Place for shoppers to visit on Saturday (December 4).
A Totally Locally Brigg Indie Market will be held in the town centre, offering a range of goods. These stalls will be in addition to the general market selling fruit, veg, flowers and fish.
However, local people who might be planning to go elsewhere to visit shops - including Grimsby, Gainsborough and Lincoln - should note that Northern company trains will NOT be running from Brigg railway station this Saturday.
Instead, a replacement bus service will be provided.
Buses will leave Brigg railway station (adjoining platform one) for Barnetby, Habrough and Grimsby at 9.50am, 1.35pm and 5.35pm.
Buses will depart for Kirton Lindsey and Gainsborough at 11.15am, 3.25pm and 7.20pm.
Please note that the buses will be running at different times to the trains they replace between Grimsby and Gainsborough.
Our thanks go to the Independent Brigg Line Rail Group for this update.
The IBLRG says the units that would have been used on the Brigg line are needed to strengthen the Lincoln Christmas Market services this Saturday.
