MIXED RESULTS FOR BRIGG & DISTRICT SATURDAY FOOTBALL TEAMS YESTERDAY


Brigg Town Football Club dropped a place to third in the table after losing 2-1 at home to Ollerton Town yesterday (Saturday, December 4).
The Zebras are now third in Toolstation Northern Counties East Division One, occupying one of the play-off places.
The mid-table visitors from Nottinghamshire took an early lead and added to it soon after the interval.
Brigg pulled a goal back through Steve McCarron after 70 minutes but could not find an equaliser.
The attendance at the EC Surfacing Stadium (Hawthorns) was 152.
Three of our local sides were in action in the EC Surfacing Ltd Scunthorpe & District League yesterday.
Briggensians drew 2-2 with Baltic Boys in a Division One fixture at Brigg Recreation Ground. On the mark for Briggensians were Justin Walker and Sam Benson.
In Division Two, Barnetby United Reserves were 4-2 home winners against Crowle Colts Development. See match report below.
Division Three side Briggensians Reserves were 10-0 winners at Gunness & Burringham. Ben Lingard, scored four of them, there was a hat trick for Jamie Craigie, a brace from Owen Dunderdale and one goal by Charlie Bradley.
Brigg Town Development's scheduled away game at Lincoln United Development yesterday was postponed in the Balcan Lighting Supplies Lincolnshire League Premier.

Barnetby United's first team did not have a league fixture yesterday.


BARNETBY RESERVES RECORD FIRST LEAGUE VICTORY OF THE SEASON

A Kyle Mallia brace and further goals from Brendan O’Callaghan and Jake Crossland saw Ben Clark’s Reserves record their 1st victory in division 2... at the 7th attempt, writes Lee Fielden.
O’Callaghan opened the scoring early on, only for Crowle to draw level with a powerful header from a corner.
Mallia put The Railwaymen 2-1 up - capitalising on a keeping error - and he made it 3-1 just before the break.
Both sides registered a goal apiece in the 2nd half, with Jake Crossland’s strike sealing the points for Barnetby.
