TWO-DAY MARKET IS A CHRISTMAS HIGHLIGHT FOR FAMILIES, SAYS BRIGG COUNCILLOR

Many people living in Brigg and district will be keen to attend the forthcoming two-day Normanby Hall Christmas Market, which will have dozens of stalls and involve some of our local traders.
It will take place on Saturday and Sunday, December 11 and 12, from 10am to 4pm. Admission to the event is free; car parking costs £4 (no charge for signed up Normanby Hall members).
Welcoming the event, Brigg's Coun Carl Sherwood, in his role as North Lincolnshire Council's cabinet member for rural communities, says this market is a highlight of many families’ Christmas calendars.

Families will be able to enjoy all the festive cheer of a traditional Christmas Market at Normanby Hall Country Park on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 December.
More than 80 local businesses are set to attend the event, offering visitors the chance to pick up unique gifts and delicious food in time for Christmas.
Shoppers can also journey back in time and discover the Travelling Historical Market, with traders dressed in authentic costume selling traditional handmade goods.
A selection of fairground rides will help keep little ones entertained and there’ll be the chance to watch the Normanby team feed the deer behind the hall at 11.30am.
The roaring fire in the Regency Hall will be lit, and there will be a large variety of tasty hot food to keep visitors warm while they explore the grounds of the award-winning 300 acre park.
Cllr Carl Sherwood, cabinet member for safer, stronger communities – rural, said: “This market is a highlight of many families’ Christmas calendars, so it’s brilliant that people can come together in person to enjoy the festive spirit, after it was held virtually last year.
“Normanby Hall is a brilliant place for families to visit all year round, but to see it decorated for Christmas is extra special – it’s the perfect backdrop for this traditional market.
“It is also an important weekend for local businesses. More than ever, it is important that we support the North Lincolnshire economy. With 85 stallholders set to attend the market it’s a great chance to shop local – visitors will be spoilt for choice for unique gifts.”
The Normanby Christmas Market takes place on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 December, from 10am to 4pm.
Entry is free. Car parking costs £4 (free for Normanby membership holders). To help the flow of traffic and minimise disruption, drivers will be able access the park from the roundabout in Normanby village and Thealby, with a diversion in place for other road users.
While the event will take place outside, visitors are advised to consider wearing a face covering in crowded areas and to take a lateral flow test before attending. Please do not attend if you are showing Covid symptoms.
A number of fake Facebook events have been set up relating to the Christmas Market. To stay up to date, visit the official Normanby Hall Facebook page  https://www.facebook.com/normanbyhall and website http://www.normanbyhall.co.uk/
