COMMERCIAL FISHING PONDS NEAR BRIGG GIVEN THE GO AHEAD

The go ahead has been given for new angling ponds in the Brigg area.
Planning permission for the formation of two commercial fishing ponds, erection of toilet/reception building, installation of sewage treatment plant and associated access, car parking and landscaping at a site off Grasby Road, Grasby, has been granted by West Lindsey District Council.
Information submitted to the authority explained: "Both ponds consist of 25 fishing stages located strategically around the banks, extruding approximately 1m over the water."
It added: "Seating areas, picnic tables and mown paths have been integrated into the layout, in addition to the fishing platforms, to provide recreational activities for visitors to enjoy the landscaping setting."
The application form indicates parking provision for 20 vehicles.
West Lindsey District Council is now considering an application to remove three mobile classrooms at Caistor Grammar School and erect a purpose-built two-storey classroom block. Some children from Brigg & district attended this seat of learning.
Gainsborough-based plans are also considering an application to erect one dwelling at 1 Church Farm Road, South Kelsey. This is an amendment to a previously approved scheme.
Decisions on these Caistor and Kelsey applications will be made by council planners in due course.
