CHARITIES MAY WANT TO USE BRIGG'S NEW PROJECTION SYSTEM

Many favourable comments were expressed in Brigg about the after-dark Poppy display projected onto the front of the Buttercross in the Market Place ahead of Remembrance Day and Remembrance Sunday in November 2021.
This was a new facility arranged by Brigg Town Council, and similar events look likely to follow.
A flickering flame may be displayed in January ahead of World Holocaust Day, when the town holds commemorations beside the steel memorial on the Millennium Green, off Elwes Street.
Some approaches have also been received from charities about using the projection system to highlight their causes.
Coun Rob Waltham stressed during the council's latest meeting that there should be no cost to charities.
He suggested a working group of councillors should be formed to look at use of the projection system.
As yet it is unclear whether technical arrangements can be made to project images onto the front of the Angel building in the Market Place, in addition to the Buttercross.
Snowflake images were displayed on the Buttercross last Thursday during the Christmas lights switch-on evening, festive fair and late night shopping event.
