BRIGG HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL SERVICE 2021 TO BE HELD ONLINE

The poignant and solemn Holocaust Memorial Service cannot take place as usual in Brigg later this month due to lockdown.
However, it will still go ahead in 'virtual' format on the internet, using the Zoom platform.
People would normally gather at the Holocaust Memorial, designed by a local student and sited on the Millennium Green between Elwes Street and the Old River Ancholme.
For details about attending the online service on Sunday, January 24 (4pm) email Brigg Town Council enquiries@briggmarkettown.co.uk
The council will be producing a service sheet for those taking part, and there's an open invitation to attend online by making a request in advance.
Brigg Town Council has been holding its meetings via the Zoom platform for many months since Coronavirus emergency restrictions ruled out traditional face-to-face sessions involving councillors and staff in a room within the Angel building.
Prior to the creation of the memorial on the Green, ceremonies were held in late January around a smaller one sited on the ground floor of the Angel.
